Online Computers Hosts Additional Lunch & Learn Session

Online Computers Hosts Additional Lunch & Learn Session

On January 30th, Online Computers hosted an additional Lunch & Learn on How to Work from Home During a Snow Storm. The decision to add a second session on this topic came after the first event received high levels of interest and sold out almost immediately.

Ironically, the second session fell on the day after approximately 1-4 inches of snow hit the surrounding areas. The topic seemed to resonate with guests even more so than last time, and they were interested in some of the necessary tools to safely and efficiently work from home.

One of the issues covered during the Lunch & Learn was determining if employees were in fact working, while at home, or if they were essentially taking a day off.

“Employers can be hesitant to let their employees work from home whether it’s during a snow storm or any ordinary day,” said Online Computers CEO, Carl Scalzo, “You may have a nice home office and are working efficiently, but your boss is thinking that you’re most likely taking advantage and watching Netflix all day.”

Some solutions were discussed in response to this issue, and guests learned about some great collaborative tools and applications which can help with accountability.

Overall, it was another successful event, and guests left feeling more informed and educated. The Online Computers team looks forward to hosting more Lunch & Learns, on a variety of different topics, in the near future.
